Founded in 1920 by John Ervin, who invented and perfected the manufacturing of steel shot and grit for the abrasive industry. The company has three manufacturing plants in Michigan and Pennsylvania plus the world headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and two manufacturing plants in Germany.
