Cincinnati Surgical has been manufacturing surgical blades and scalpels since 1938, when it began as a blade resharpening business in Covington, Kentucky and was founded as Christy Surgical. Renamed Cincinnati Surgical in 1957, the company is a privately held corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio, and entered a joint manufacturing agreement with Swann-Morton in 2015, producing more than 1.5 million blades per day in Sheffield, England.
