Bankair is a charter operator based in West Columbia, South Carolina, that has been in the airline business for over fifty years. Nettie Dickerson started the business in 1972 in service for local banks, and it expanded into commuter passenger service in 1975. In 1984 it was awarded a federal contract by the Federal Reserve Bank to fly the nation's checks between Federal Reserve Banks. It now offers charter Learjet service to destinations in the Western Hemisphere.
