Avelo is a company whose mission is to save lives by bringing fast and actionable infectious disease diagnostics closer to the patient. Its solution is AveloMask, a non-invasive breath sampling kit containing a special mask and buffer tube that works with existing molecular tests to transform tuberculosis and pneumonia diagnostics. The filter inside the mask captures disease-causing viruses and bacteria from the entire respiratory tract, and after use the filter is transferred into the buffer tube for molecular testing.
