Applied Physics Technologies (APT) is a producer of commercial cathodes and electron and ion beam components for microscopy, microanalysis, x-ray, and additive manufacturing producers. Founded in 1999 by LRI researchers William Mackie, PhD and Gary Cabe, APT operates a 10,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in McMinnville, Oregon, and APT Labs in Hillsboro, Oregon. APT was acquired by Hitachi High-Technologies and acquired its boride line from FEI Company.
